The Minnesota Holstein Association held its Fall Harvest Sale on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. On 78 full lots, the sale averaged $2551.28. Seven half lots were also sold and the average including half lots was $2402.35. Ninteen exceptional Red & White Holsteins were sold on the Red & White showcase that averaged $1847.37.
Purchased by Gordon Lamb, Oakfield, New York, Lot 3 sold as the highest selling lot for $13,300. James Martin of Iowa, consigned this January Cassino heifer that had an impressive GTPI +2297G and a A.I. contract.
Second highest seller was Lot 1, Hendel Shmrk Blanch 3402-ET for $13,000 and was consigned by Hendel Farms of Caledonia, Minn. T-Spruce, Richmond, Minn. was the successful buyer of the June 2011 Shamrock heifer who came with a $12,000 A.I. contract and GTPI of +2284G.

2011 Fall Harvest Sale Buyers List
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Holstein Association held their annual Spring Special Sale on Saturday, April 2, at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester. On 125 full lots, the sale averaged $2,245.83. The sale also featured an online/on-site embryo auction which averaged $330.17 per embryo on six embryo packages.
Purchased by Rock-Hill Dairy, Dexter, New Mexico, Lot 35 sold as the highest selling lot for $7,500. Tim and Matt Zabel, Plainview, Minn. consigned the high index June 2010 Big Time heifer from a deep Ladys-Manor pedigree.
Second highest seller was Lot 2, Morningview Paddy Loyal-ET, for $7,200 and was consigned by Tom Schmitt of Durango, Iowa. T-Spruce, Richmond, Minn., was the successful buyer of the A.I. contracted, #2 ranking GLPI Paddy in Canada September heifer.
The Spring Special also included the annual youth showcase. Four animals were available to youth buyers for a 10% discount. Jeremy Schaefer, Minnesota Junior Holstein Member, auctioneered the youth show case animals. Congratulations to the four youth buyers and good luck in the upcoming show season.
