It was a chilly morning in Minnesota for the 2013 Minnesota Fall Harvest Sale, but that didn’t stop buyers and bidders from filling the bleachers at the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Minn. The sale was held on Saturday, November 23, 2013. At the sale 92 lots were auctioned off and included two choices, two half lots and nine head on the Red & White Showcase. The sale averaged $2,691 on the 92 lots. The Red & White Showcase had an average of $2,261 on the nine lots.
The 2013 Fall Harvest Sale also featured an online/onsite embryo auction. Four lots sold on the auction and averaged $343 per embryo. The high selling embryo lot was a package of five #1 embryos from Landis Mrk Camern ZsaZsa x Halogen. This package was consigned by Ryan Krull, George, Iowa and purchased by T-Spruce Holsteins, Richmond, Minn.
The high selling consignment of the day was lot 2, a first choice Jabir female from Farnear-TBR-BH Gerri-ET. This lot was consigned by Kenny Rohe of Hawick, Min and was purchased by Melarry Farms of Rice, Minn. The second high seller was lot 7, T-Spruce Numero Uno 7316. This high genomic heifer was consigned by T-Spruce Holsteins of Richmond, Minn. and was purchased by Blue Horizon, Verndale, Minn. The 2013 Minnesota Spring Special sale was held on April 13, 2013 at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester, Minn. The cold weather and snow made it a perfect day for a sale. The bleachers were full and the conversation light as breeders from across the Midwest attended the sale.
The sale averaged $2,872 on 111 live lots. The average not including the two half lots and two showcase animals was $2,939.The online/onsite embryo auction averaged $350 per embryo on nine embryo lots that sold.
Topping the sale at $45,000 was Lot 1. Lot 1 was a +2509 GTPI Mogul consigned by Robert Eustice of Byron, Minn. This exciting young heifer was purchased by TJR Genetics of Farley, Iowa. The second his seller was lot 2, she was a +2256 Facebook heifer consigned by Jon Larson of Albert Lea, Minn. Lot 2 was purchased by Rockport Dairy of Alexandria, South Dakota.
