Minnesota State Red & White Show

Red and White breeders from all areas of the state gathered in Willmar at the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds on August 8, 2008 to compete in the Minnesota Red and White State Show. Judge Doug Post, Volga, SD, placed the 26 heifers and 14 heifers for a total of 40 animals exhibited at the show.

Judge Post named four-year old Howe-AE Kite Vicki-Red, exhibited by Howe Holsteins, as senior champion female. Second place four-year old Howe-AE High Society-Red, also exhibited by Howe Holsteins, was named reserve senior champion. For intermediate champion and best udder of the show, the honors went to junior three-year old All-Heart Advnt Buckeye-Red exhibited by Ross Dankers of Le-Ro-Da Farm. First place senior two-year old, Jerland Jordan Nora-Red, exhibited by Reid Stransky and Lawrence Jerome was selected as reserve intermediate champion and top bred and owned of the show.

In the final selection for grand champion, Judge Post chose intermediate champion, All-Heart Advnt Buckeye-Red. Reserve grand champion honors were awarded to reserve intermediate champion, Jerland Jordan Nora-Red.

From the field of 26 high-quality heifers, first place summer yearling, Intrigue Rampage Cara-Red exhibited by Cory Schmidt was chosen as junior champion and second place summer yearling, Melarry Advent DJ-Red-ET, exhibited by Brook Hackett was chosen as reserve junior champion.

Intrigue Rampage Cara-Red and Melarry Advent DJ-Red-ET were also named junior champion and reserve junior champion of the junior show respectively.

The senior and grand champion of the junior show was the junior two-year old, Havencrest Rampage Lust-Red, exhibited by Jacob Schaefer and Quentin Scott. Reserve senior and reserve grand champion of the junior show was the senior two-year old TJ-Pollema Advnt Chrisy-Red, exhibited by Brooke Pollema.
