Minnesota Holstein Association Opens Applications for their New Award – Minnesota’s Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder.
NEW TO THE MHA THIS YEAR – The Minnesota Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder Award! Below you will find the complete details for this award. Please note that this may sound similar to the Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder Award, but we would specifically like to recognize an individual or group on individuals on a state wide basis. Take a look at the application and details below, there are also some great prizes that accompany this!
The Minnesota Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder Award recognizes registered Holstein breeders, ages 21 to 40, for their incredible achievements. With emphasis on commitment to excellence in breeding and dedication to the industry, the award is intended to honor significant accomplishments and motivate other producers to continue to strive for excellence. Members of the organization are encouraged to nominate themselves or others for the award.
Eligibility:
– Applicant must be between the ages of 21 and 40 as of January 1 of the award year, and be a member in good standing of the Minnesota Holstein Association.
– If applying as a couple or business partners, both applicants must meet the above requirements.
– Herd ownership and/or management responsibility are required.
– Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to reapply in subsequent years provided they continue to meet the eligibility requirements above.
Application Procedure:
– Complete this google form no later than January 14, 2023.
Recognition:
The winning applicant will receive one night of lodging expenses paid for at the 2023 MN All-Breeds Convention along with complimentary tickets (up to 4) to the convention banquet on Friday evening. At that time, the winner will be awarded a plaque as well. The convention will take place March 3-4 in Red Wing, MN.
Applicants are strongly encouraged, not required, to go on to complete the National application for further recognition.
