Minnesota State Holstein Show 2016

The 2016 Minnesota State Show was held at the Olmstead County Fairgrounds in Rochester, Minn. on Friday, June 24, 2016. Michael Heath was the official judge for the show and placed 94 heifers and 84 cows for a total of 178 head.

Junior Champion was awarded to the first place spring yearling, Strans-Jen D Twist Red-ET exhibited by Reid Stransky & Jeni Dingbaum. Reserve junior champion honors were awarded to the first place winter yearling Miss Caramel Latte exhibited by Scott R. Culbertson. Receiving honorable mention honors for junior champion was the second place winter yearling Sunnylodge Greenland Leona exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and Darian Stransky.

Judge Heath selected the first place senior three-year old Mahoney Sid Porsha, exhibited by Shelby Mahoney as Intermediate Champion. Reserve intermediate champion honors were awarded to Jenesis-B Dempsey Kassidy, the second place senior three-year-old exhibited by Gary Blasé. Honorable mention intermediate champion honors were given to Jacobs Windbrook Delay, the first place junior two-year-old exhibited by Cory Schmidt.

Senior champion was awarded to the first place aged cow Sheeknoll Durham Arrow, exhibited by Sheeknoll Farms. Reserve senior champion was presented to the first place five-year-old Stanhope Elaine Extreem exhibited by Holmacres Holstein Farm. Jen-D Devil Tiffany-Red, exhibited by Reid Stransky & T & L Cattle received honorable mention.

For Grand Champion Judge Heath selected the senior champion Sheeknoll Durham Arrow, exhibited by Sheeknoll Farms. Sheeknoll Durham Arrow was also named best udder and best bred and owned of the show. Reserve grand and reserve bred & owned of the show was awarded to the intermediate champion Mahoney Sid Porsha, exhibited by Shelby Mahoney. Honorable mention was awarded to the reserve intermediate champion Jenesis-B Dempsey Kassidy, exhibited by Gary Blasé.

The premier breeder and exhibitor of the 2016 Minnesota State Holstein Show was awarded to Demmer Farms of Ellendale Minn. Congratulations to all exhibitors and thank you to all volunteers who made this event possible. The 2017 State Show will be held in Hutchinson, Minn.
